New Zeiger Z3 Screw-Tip Valve is Injection Molding Breakthrough

05/21/2009

Inventor of the ultimate performance Zeiger Z4 adds affordable performance to its lineup

Canton, Ohio (June 1, 2009) - Zeiger Industries, the leader in top performance screw-tip valves, introduces the new Zeiger Z3TM three-piece screw-tip valve.

Known for its Zeiger Z4TM four-piece screw-tip, which offers longest-lasting performance in critical applications, Zeiger now offers the first advanced three-piece screw-tip valve for more affordable, best-in-class performance for general injection molding applications. The Z4 was previously named the Mallard® four-piece non-return valve.

Compared to typical three-piece screw-tip valves, the new Zeiger Z3 offers longer injection molding valve life, fewer breakdowns and better value. The competitively priced Z3 outperforms all three-piece injection molding valves in achieving repeatable shot control.

Zeiger Industries President Don Zeiger said he decided to invest in developing the Z3 in response to customers' requests for a better-performing three-piece screw-tip valve.  "Zeiger stands for performance, and to get that you need superior materials and state-of-the-art engineering," he said. "That's why we took our time in developing the three-piece injection molding valve - even while others pushed inferior three-piece models to market. We lead the industry with our four-piece design, and I won't accept anything less than optimum performance from our three-piece screw-tip valve."

Proprietary, advanced design features of the Zeiger Z3 injection molding valve include:
  • Precision-crafted from D2 tool steel, hardened to 60RC (Rockwell), for good corrosion- and abrasion-resistance that far outlasts the "veneer approach" of competitors' nitrided steel
  • A full-flow channel design that is self-cleaning, resulting in less downtime than free-flow valves which require cleaning between runs
  • Fast-installing hex wrenching flats that simplify maintenance with no specialized tools needed

"Especially in this economy, our customers cannot waste their money on three-piece screw-tip valves made with cheaper shortcuts that result in lower performance and reduced longevity," said Zeiger. "The Zeiger Z3 gives our customers the competitive advantage they need now more than ever."

Don's Never Never Land

  Never Never No. 1

nitriding is like putting lipstick on a pig!

Nitriding is a cheap trick using a cheap veneer. The coating falsely raises the Rockwell rating, so your valve can be damaged beyond repair in two weeks! Don will NEVER nitride, ALWAYS using the right steel hardened right instead. LEARN HOW YOU CAN DECREASE DEFECTS
  Never Never No. 2

Is a free-flow valve really free flowing?

We don't think so. Free-flow valves actually make a mess with burnt material left behind after each shot. Leakage. Labor. Downtime. Don will NEVER sell a free-flow and will ALWAYS use a full-flow valve instead. LEARN WHY OURS IS THE INDUSTRY STANDARD
